Lei Lounge Restaurant Review:

Lei Lounge continues to be a popular dinner and drinks spot. As is the case with other big cities, the bottle service game---paying a fortune for a full bottle of booze in order to get a table---is de rigueur. Cabanas line the outside courtyard; regular tables fill the center of the patio. Lush tropical plants, flowers and candles give a vacation-like feel, so much so that it seems a shame not to order one of the many creative cocktails. The menu is called "global," which here translates as unfocused, and is composed of Asian, Italian and American appetizers. If the execution of these choices were better, we would have no complaints, but the majority of dishes fall short of expectations. We like the light, crisp coconut-crusted calamari, but other items such as ginger-vegetable dumplings (gummy), sweet potato fries (greasy), mini Kobe beef sampler (flavorless), and grilled pomegranate pork chop (overcooked) are disappointing. If you are looking for glitz and glamour, and a fun party night, this is your place; if you have a discerning palate or no tolerance for attitude, go elsewhere.
