Lone Star Taqueria Restaurant Review:
"Hey, let's hit the Lone Star!" are the words that often escape the mouths of skiers heading out of Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon. When you're hunting for food on the cheap and a beer to go with, the Lone Star on Ft. Union Blvd. in the Cottonwood Heights area hits the spot. The funky, colorful décor and retro table and chairs are like magnets for the ski bum scene, but businessmen from the neighborhood also crowd the patio on warm days. Unless you've got a giant appetite, the half-size burrito is plenty. Choose from marinated pork, broiled chicken, shredded beef, vegetables or egg. Everything is rolled together with rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, cilantro, tomato, onions and cheese. A quick stop at the salsa bar on your way to your seat completes your feast. Seafood fans will like the fish taco---the meat is grilled, not fried---and the chips with guacamole rival anything in Mexico.
