Lure Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: With a comfortable contemporary setting, Fifth Group Restaurants’ Lure evokes a beach-side aura of restrained rusticity.
Food & Drinks: Although the menu isn't nearly as adventurous as when the restaurant first opened, we still find much to like here. Dishes tend to be comforting and served in rather hefty portions. Smoked trout pâté is creamy and deeply flavored, and the tiny chilled shrimp both naturally sweet and tangy. “Shared Plates," such as the crisply fried calamari, work well as small mains. Entrées include grilled scallops whose embellishments change often. Also enjoyable is the seafood stew featuring wild Georgia shrimp in a tomato brodetto. Other than fish, there's Springer Mountain chicken, a pork chop and a rib steak, plus plenty of vegetable choices for the meat/fish averse. Gluten-free options are available. For dessert, you'll have trouble choosing from a raft of evolving selections, but take a look at the house-made ice creams and the coconut cake. The ever-updated wine list presents many white wines to go with the fish dishes, but red wines are offered, too, and nothing is pedestrian. As the evening wears on and the place fills, it gets fairly noisy, so we suggest early dining for maximum comfort.
