Mahalo Hawaii BBQ & Chinese Food Restaurant Review:
"Mahalo" literally translates as "thank you," and Hawaiian fast-food fans will be thankful they visited this place for its portions and value. Located in a nondescript strip mall near a busy intersection, Mahalo is a good spot for such Island specialties as grilled Spam musubi, kalua pork, lau lau, poi and saimin noodles. Staying with the times, the restaurant also offers a low-carb plate with barbecued short ribs, beef and chicken accompanied by two eggs. Plates come with a scoop of macaroni salad and two scoops of rice. Hawaiian natives will be happy to find Pass-O-Guava juice (POG). Expect a full Chinese menu, too, including weekday lunch specials for under $8. Mahalo is especially good for takeout, and delivery is available.
