Majid's St. Matthews Restaurant Review:
Proprietor Majid Ghavami is always on hand to welcome his guests. Depending on mood and weather, he will escort you to the quiet dining room, the cozy bar featuring live jazz, or the sunny flower-lined patio. Drinks orders are taken promptly. Sip while sharing the lamb kebabs or salmon crostini starters. Then choose between such house specialties as the half of a roasted duck rubbed in marmalade and a seafood stew brimming with fish and shellfish. Rack of lamb and the lemon chicken are highly recommended, too. Game lovers should have the grilled quail, finished with an intriguing cinnamon gastrique. Service is amicable and accommodating. The mostly American wine list is not long, but the pricing is fair. Round out dinner with one of the seasonal fruit tarts.
