Marchi's Restaurant Review:
With an entrance marked only by the Marchi family’s coat of arms, this 70-plus-year-old New York restaurant offers understated elegance and a set menu. All you need to order is beverages. Five-course dinners begin with assorted antipasti (including Signor Lorenzo Marchi’s signature salad of tuna, olives, capers, chopped celery, parsley and red cabbage) before moving on to lasagna with the family’s secret sauce, crisp fried fish with cold beets and string beans, and roast chicken and veal. Fruit and pastries for dessert unfold at a leisurely pace. Three Marchi brothers supervise the preparation of recipes laid down by their father decades ago, and are unchanged.
