Maria's Ristorante on Summit Restaurant Review:

This southern Italian restaurant brings South Philly-style to Roxborough, a working class neighborhood adjacent to gentrified Manayunk. In the cheerful dining rooms, Mama Maria dishes up shrimp and sun-dried tomato risotto, as well as all manner of meat, fish and chicken dishes. Fried artichokes draw from Roman tradition, and there's a mean cioppino (called pescatore) brimming with seafood. But we like her eggplant Parmigiana the best, though some of her pastas --- gnocchi with three cheeses --- are straight-up comfort food. A pizza oven does its part to contribute to the menu offerings. Live music is sometimes featured in the bar area. Looking for a place to please multiple generations for a family outing? Maria's is it.
