Mia Francesca Restaurant Review:
The Francesca's ever-growing family of restaurants got its start at this bustling, ear-splitting spot, where lines still snake out the door on weekends and the pace discourages lingering. The recipe for success? Generous portions of sophisticated-enough Italian food at reasonable prices. Carpaccio fills a platter; tomato-sauced mussels are heaped in a bowl. The menu changes daily, but look for individual pizzas, risotto with wild mushrooms, and ravioli with four-cheese and tomato sauces. We especially like the chicken in tomato sauce, covered with mozzarella and prosciutto when available. In warm weather, try to snag a table on the tiny patio out back for appetizers and pizza. There are countless offshoots in the city and suburbs.
