Miriam Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Situated on the corner of a tree-lined street and simply but comfortably appointed, this Park Slope eatery looks at first like a neighborhood restaurant. Catch a glimpse of the menu, however, and you'll know that it’s not. The Israeli menu resembles a mixture of Middle Eastern, European and Mediterranean fare due to the eclectic nature of the cuisine. Try the zucchini cake in yogurt sauce or the spicy calamari with chickpeas, tomato, red onion and arugula to start. Follow these with a grilled kufta kebab, a Middle Eastern classic consisting of ground lamb, chicken, beef and spices, served over roasted baby eggplant with yogurt sauce, majadara rice, and a tomato mint salad. The grilled rib steak is a Miriam specialty, flavored with a porcini mustard sauce and accompanied by sautéed kale, chickpeas and Jerusalem bread filled with feta cheese and leeks.
