Moerlein Lager House Restaurant Review:

Cincinnati is a brewing town and owes part of its history to Christian Moerlein, a Bavarian immigrant and blacksmith who lived in the area and started Christian Moerlein Brewing Company in 1853. Today, this riverfront restaurant, situated next to the Great American Ball Park and overlooking one of the city's gems, Smale Riverfront Park, is part of The Banks neighborhood renovation, which draws young urban dwellers, baseball fans and business types. There's a nod to Bavaria in everything from the beer to soft pretzels and beer cheese. But you can also get crispy balsamic tofu with spinach basil risotto; meatloaf with Barbarossa demi-glace and cheddar mashed potatoes; and butternut squash Wellington. Go for a side of Brussels sprouts, or ask for an entire gluten-free meal if you're so inclined. A family attending a game next door can get a kid's meal (entrée, side and a drink) for $6. Finish with a dessert such as the black cherry forest cake or the Graeter's ice cream trio. Some tables have their own taps. You can take a Heritage Brewer Tour ($10) while you're here, or buy a minted beer token for someone who is deserving of a Moerlein draft.
