Oak City Grille Restaurant Review:
Although it hosts live music, Oak City Grille provides a quiet respite within a short stroll of Royal Oak’s eclectic shops and thumping entertainment venues. Sit outside or along the French doors inside to watch passersby, and partake of simple, well-executed dishes like pan-seared chicken breasts sautéed with artichoke hearts, lemon juice, white wine and cream; saffron lobster ravioli with shrimp and scallops served with tomatoes, green onions and a lobster cream sauce; salads like Roma tomatoes with onions and blue cheese in balsamic dressing; and panko-crusted mahi mahi in delicate, Champagne-infused, strawberry-orange marmalade sauce. Your mother would approve of the pot roast, with stewed vegetables over chive-flecked mashed potatoes. For dessert, choose from such winners as bananas Foster bread pudding and Sanders Hot Fudge Cream Puff Chocolate Lava Cake. Check out the list of handcrafted microbrews, the nice wine list (designed for all pocketbooks) and the selection of martinis. Happy hour ushers in small plates and by-the-glass drink deals.
