Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom Restaurant Review:
While Old Chicago made its mark with its renowned deep-dish pizza, it's often the world tour of draft and bottled beers that draws crowds. Guys meet at the bar for a lager, ale, pilsner, porter or stout and to watch sports on the plasma TVs that surface a large portion of the walls. Still, there are plenty of families, too, who drop in for a modestly priced night out. The deep-dish pizzas are the stars, although thin-crusted pies are also available, and there are more than thirty toppings from which to choose. Broad selections of other Italian offerings (calzones, spaghetti platters and additional old-country entrées) are offset by salads, burgers, sandwiches and craft-your-own macaroni-and-cheese bowls. And while the kitchen sticks to the basics --- and the food is hardly groundbreaking --- the Sicilian pepperoni rolls are nothing short of addictive.
