The Original Pancake House Restaurant Review:
Expect a wait on some weekends, though early arrivals usually can avoid the lazy day "rush," as people travel to this breakfast destination. Allow twenty minutes for the satisfying, oven-baked "Dutch baby," or apple pancakes that can easily feed two or more. If waiting for food after waiting for a table doesn't appeal, opt for the sticky goodness of the regionally named '49er flapjacks, oversize thin pancakes that droop over their huge plate and soak up butter, or an omelet the size of a small loaf of bread. Fresh-squeezed orange juice and thick sliced bacon can fill out an already delightfully over-the-top meal. The Formica-heavy, faux-rough-hewn décor and bottomless coffee, served with heavy cream, will take you back to a simpler time, and the portions will leave you plenty to take home. Other locations.
