Outback Steakhouse Restaurant Review:
This Australian-themed chain features friendly service, a convivial atmosphere and plentiful helpings. Any discussion of “Aussie-Tizers” has to begin with the Bloomin’ Onion, an entire hand-carved onion that’s deep-fried and served with spicy dipping sauce. There are lighter options, including “grilled shrimp on the barbie” and spice-rubbed yellowfin tuna, seared and served with wasabi vinaigrette. The menu features salads, but most people opt for Choice steaks: center-cut sirloin, prime rib, filet and rib-eye, New York strip and porterhouse, all sprinkled with spices. Each steak entitles diners to a choice of two sides, including roasted garlic mashed potatoes, “Aussie” chips or plentiful steamed veggies. Wash it all down with a frosty mug of Honey Blonde draft brew. “Irresistible Desserts” are decadent, including the sundae-like Cinnamon Apple Oblivion and the Cheesecake Olivia with raspberry, chocolate or caramel sauce.
