P.F. Chang's China Bistro Restaurant Review:
Third Street Promenade wouldn’t be complete without this venerable gourmet Chinese food chain. Somehow, customers don’t mind waiting---and waiting---for a table, perhaps because there are over 40 wines-by-the-glass to choose from at the bar. It seems all Chang restaurants have a consistent floor plan: ultra-high ceilings, cherry-wood floors and stone Asian artifacts, which makes guests feel as if they’re somewhere a lot more expensive. (We’ve discovered that if you phone to get your name put on the waiting list, it speeds things up a bit.) The best dishes have included chicken in lettuce wraps, eggplant and chicken, crispy honey shrimp and Dan Dan noodles---all fresh from the wok. The service is friendly and usually efficient.
