Pastiche Restaurant Review:
No restaurant in Tucson makes better use of its name, as this midtown spot offers a mix, or “pastiche,” of foods. Starters include Cajun hot dogs, panko-encrusted fried avocado and the best mushroom soup in town. There’s a steak frites salad and baked mac ‘n’ cheese, a quinoa-crusted chicken breast and bourbon-baked salmon --- and you can’t go wrong with the Pastiche burger. Other entrées run the gamut from lasagna with five cheeses to vegetables in a vodka sauce, house-made wild boar sausage and San Francisco-style cioppino. Desserts, crafted on the premises, depend on the chef’s mood. The wine list is eclectic thanks to a knowledgeable and passionate team.
