Pho 95 Restaurant Review:
As Vietnamese restaurants go, this eatery offers few surprises, except that the kitchen prepares quail and frog (goat has been deleted from the menu). The popular soup, pho, comes in several hearty, beefy versions, accompanied by a mound of bean sprouts and basil leaf. Standards such as the soft spring rolls (goi cuon) are better than most, as are the grilled beef in grape leaves and the entrée-size rice noodles made with coriander, shredded carrots and a sweet broth that binds it all together. The special rice crêpe with grilled pork, shrimp and spring roll is a knockout. Beverages include fresh and salty lemonade; desserts include grass jelly with coconut milk and longan.
