Public House Restaurant Review:
From the steak-scented ashes of Traci Des Jardins' former Acme Chophouse springs Public House on the ground floor of AT&T Park. Public House feels stadium-sized --- like a well-heeled sports bar on steroids, with shimmering stacks of beer kegs, a long wooden bar, a 100-plus-seat dining room and two dozen flat-screen TVs lining the walls in blinking bands. The food fits the mood: topnotch pub grub emphasizing locally sourced ingredients. Bar bites include house-made onion rings, chipotle buffalo wings and mini corn dogs. Heartier appetites can go for the burger, fish and chips, fried chicken or smoked beef short ribs. Finish on a sweet note with Humphry Slocombe ice cream sandwiches. The most important thing on the menu, however, is beer, and the extensive list of exciting draft and bottled offerings --- the majority from small-batch craft breweries --- draws an ever-growing clientele of aficionados, even on nights the Giants play away.
