Pyramid Bistro Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: As the name suggests, Explore Booksellers is a place for discovery. And in the dining room on its airy, cheery second floor, chef Martin Oswald is living up to its mission in tasty fashion. A full-throated advocate of nutritarianism, which emphasizes a high ratio of micronutrients per calorie, he aims to prepare innovative, mostly vegetarian dishes that are as artful as they are healthful.
Food & Drinks: At lunch, that could mean coconut-enriched butternut squash soup sprinkled with black sesame seeds; lettuce wraps stuffed with spiced red lentils in romesco sauce; and rainbow risotto with sun-dried tomatoes, dates, preserved lemon, kale and a touch of walnut butter. For dinner, there could be sweet potato gnocchi tossed with sage, apple chutney, roasted Brussels sprouts and artichokes, or sunflower seed-crusted salmon over sunchoke purée and purple potatoes. Desserts burst with fruits and nuts. To wash it all down, consider the fresh-squeezed juices as well as wine or gluten-free and organic beers.
