RAYA Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Overlooking the Pacific from its space within The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, bright, open RAYA radiates a serene ambience, not unlike an outdoor venue.

Food & Drinks: Well-known chef Richard Sandoval established the Latin-inspired concept, but the seasonal menu also draws inspiration from California and Asian cuisines. Begin your meal with a selection from the sturdy wine list or a handcrafted cocktail and dive into the lobster tacos or Hawaiian ahi ceviche. There’s an abundance of gluten-free options (noted by a special label) ranging from rock shrimp aguachile to a Prime New York steak with Dungeness crab potato purée, and a Maine lobster salad with sweet potato, baby spinach, lemon vinaigrette, chile ancho-port reduction and chive oil. For dessert, go for the cinnamon sugar churros. The lunch menu shares many of the dishes from the dinner offerings, while breakfast presents classics with a zesty twist.
