The Rockefeller Restaurant Review:
Similar to its sister location in Hermosa Beach, The Rockefeller in Manhattan Beach features large glass windows that can open to create a breezy setting when the weather allows. The small, quaint space has exposed-beam ceilings, suspended Edison bulbs, wood tables with eclectic chairs, and a marble bar in the back. Several TVs have been placed throughout, adding a bit of a sports bar sensibility. There are also a few tables on the sidewalk where guests can bring their dogs and dine. Start off with their take on oysters Rockefeller or share a plate of seared ahi tostadas or grilled local halibut tacos. Gastropub standards get a gourmet boost, as in the fish and chips with Allagash beer batter and a Wagyu beef burger with Taleggio cheese, heirloom tomato relish, onion marmalade, frisée and garlic aïoli. Satisfy your sweet tooth with the hot chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. While the food menu is the same at both locations, there is some variety among the draft beer selections, which favor local and Belgian brews. Service is friendly and effective. On Tuesdays, patrons are encouraged to order the 99-cent Feel Good Burger and help out a local charity by choosing to donate a few additional dollars.
