Row 34 Restaurant Review:
Located in the Fort Point Channel neighborhood, Row 34 is brought to you by the folks behind Island Creek Oyster Bar. Seafood is the name of the game with local oysters from Kingston, Martha’s Vineyard, Plymouth and, of course, Duxbury (where the Island Creek oysters are harvested) reigning supreme. The large open space is beautifully designed with high ceilings, brick exposed walls and a small oyster bar for watching shuckers do their thing. For appetizers, there is also a nice selection of other seafood favorites like shrimp cocktail, tuna crudo, shrimp sliders, smoked trout and mussels in white wine. Pair it all with a beer from the local and international collection, including some rare finds like Win Bic, a Saison blend from Denmark. For main dishes, we suggest the pan-roasted monkfish with spinach purée and baked hake with beurre blanc. If you aren’t counting calories, try the beer-battered fish ‘n’ chips or the golden fried “hand dug” clams and side of crispy Old Bay-seasoned onion rings. Be sure to save room for the fried apple pie caramel, perfect for sharing.
