Sapori Restaurant Review:
We find this Marina restaurant a welcoming spot, from its cozy, comfortable dining room to the tables topped with linens and flowers to the accommodating staff. Starters we've enjoyed include crispy artichoke over peasant bread, tegamino (melted provolone topped with prosciutto) and a caprese salad that they attractively layer and bill as a napoleon. Pastas such as agnolotti stuffed with cheese and wild mushrooms in truffle-butter-sage sauce and braised beef over orecchiette are satisfying. The main courses---including rack of lamb in port-rosemary sauce, pepper-crusted salmon with basil-lemon sauce, and veal scaloppine topped with Parmesan and asparagus---eclipse the standard L.A. trattoria fare. Homemade tiramisu, chocolate cake and zabaglione make for a fine finish. The wine list is predominantly Italian, with some interesting whites on offer.
