Siri Indian Cuisine Restaurant Review:
So far, this restaurant remains an undiscovered gem. Settle down in a comfortable booth and peruse the extensive menu that features dishes representing most regions of India. Your best bet may be the South Indian dosas. These crispy pancakes, made from fermented lentil flour and extending past the edge of the plate, are amply stuffed with varied iterations of potato. Tandoori, the roast meat skewers of Northern India, is another popular choice, arriving tableside with the meaty kebabs still crackling in their juices. Goan vindaloos and curries are also good, although tamed down a bit for most Americans' taste. Other Indian standards --- cauliflower and potato aloo gobi; spinach and soft cheese saag paneer; lamb biryani, plus vegetarian options --- are all credibly prepared. A platter of house-made chutneys and chiles will jazz up the sauces. A full bar offers cocktails, a selection of bottled Indian beers, and wines, most from the Pacific Northwest. Service is relaxed and friendly, inspiring guests to linger over cups of spicy, milky masala chai, meditating on the anachronistic pictures of Marilyn Monroe and Lauren Bacall on the walls.
