Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House Restaurant Review:
In the shadow of Atlanta's historic Oakland Cemetery (hence the funky name), this pub adds another dining-entertainment dimension to the hip in-town Grant Park neighborhood. Pub grub rules, although barbecued salmon also is an option. The Six Feet Under steamer is a take on Frogmore Stew (aka low country boil), with seafood, sausage, corn on the cob and new potatoes sufficient to feed two as a main dish or four as an appetizer. Try a seafood basket; catfish (sometimes muddy tasting) or scallops can be added. All are properly dusted in cornmeal and fried until crisp. We also recommend the spicy Buffalo shrimp and oysters. House-made tartar sauce is assembled fresh daily and much improved over previous visits. Veggie platters and a burger will keep anti-seafood folks fed. Ice box-style Key lime pie is quite good, although we find the crust too thick to cut (or taste). Go for a brew to accompany the meal. The late-night menu, operative after 10 p.m., features the appetizers and baskets.
