Society Restaurant Review:

Tucked into a hip, renovated Yaletown warehouse amid restaurants and nightclubs, Society draws young sophisticates and the fun-loving social media set. The interior is alluring with dark slate walls, dramatic pink faux-Murano chandeliers, French brasserie chairs, and pearly leather banquettes. Best views of the action are from the upstairs balcony lounge where dressed-to-impress party-goers flock to see and be seen while imbibing handcrafted signature cocktails. A whimsical touch: over-size glasses are filled with frothy pink cotton candy. Contrasting with the subdued opulence, the food is down-home comfort fare with an upscale makeover, from milk shakes with a kick to burgers, baked truffle mac ‘n’ cheese, and pizzas such as Hello Hawaii with chimichurri, barbecue pulled pork, Cajun shrimp, pineapple, red onion and lime. The wine list is accessible. For dessert, indulge in the over-the-top Junk Food Platter starring cotton candy, chocolate cupcakes, rice crispy squares, donut holes, caramel corn, and an ice cream sandwich.
