SUSHISAMBA Restaurant Review:
Where else but Las Vegas can you cap off a stroll along an Italian-esque canal with a meal of cross-continental cuisine? SUSHISAMBA in The Shoppes at The Palazzo offers just that, with its fusion of Asian and South American flavors. The menu's myriad options range from traditional raw bar items to Brazilian churrasco and Japanese tempura, sushi and specialty fusion rolls like the "El Topo," made with salmon and jalapeño and topped with melted mozzarella and crispy onions. Standout small plates include the sea bass and butterscotch-miso anticuchos (skewers); yellowtail taquitos with avocado, roasted corn miso and spicy aji panca sauce; and kanpachi sashimi tiradito delicately flavored with yuzu, sea salt and black truffle oil. Two seven-course tasting menus offer either a traditional omakase experience or a succession of signature SUSHISAMBA dishes. A selection of $6 appetizers, mojitos and caipirinhas are available at the bar during the double happy hours (Sunday through Friday, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m., and again from 11 p.m.-closing).
