Tank House BBQ and Bar Restaurant Review:
Named for the historic water tank that backs up to its patio, Tank House appears to be just another midtown hipster bar. But look past the mustaches and skinny jeans to reveal a down-to-earth barbecue joint that can please the most discerning palate. Ribs are dry smoked with the right balance of salt and spice, the tender meat falling off the bone; slow-smoked brisket is juicy. The “dirty tots” --- tater tots covered in cheese sauce and smoked pork butt --- are everything one could hope for in American comfort food, and the “dirty mac,” mac ‘n’ cheese topped with smoked chicken, has just the right amount of tang. One would be remiss not to pair such a spread with one of the many locally-produced beers, or a bucket-o-Hamms for novelty's sake.
