Tapas Valencia Restaurant Review:
Spacious and loft-like, the feel of this tapas restaurant --- a sibling of rambling mansion-situated Meson Sabika in Naperville --- is notably modern. The menu, however, remains quite similar. Lit by orb pendants and adorned with mosaic tiles, we understand why it’s a popular date spot as well as a gathering place for people from the neighborhood. Although nothing we tried floored us, the familiar choices won’t elicit gripes either. (Slow and scattered service, on the other hand, may.) Bacon-wrapped dates follow a well-worn path; patatas bravas with manchego lack promised spice. It turns out, the grilled shrimp in a lemony garlic butter and extra-garlicky potato salad are more memorable. There’s a nice, affordable Spanish wine list and sangría and martinis churned out from the bar.
