Taqueria Corona serves good Mexican food on Magazine Street. Most locals cannot remember a time when it wasn’t there. Fried fish and tongue tacos are hard to beat. Marinated pork, beef, chicken and shrimp are always sizzling on the grills. If you have long been waiting for rib-eye quesadillas, this is your place. Combination platters, loaded with frijoles and yellow rice, are a skinflint's delight. For a finish, try the light caramel custard, although the Mexican rice pudding may be calling your name. Ceviche is a Friday and Saturday special. Quaffs include the usual domestic and imported (Mexican) beers, some mixed drinks, sangría and margaritas made with freshly squeezed lime juice.
