Terra American Bistro Restaurant Review:

Terra, the popular Hillcrest eatery, has moved and transformed into Terra American Bistro, a more casual version of the original restaurant. Chef Jeff Rossman presents New American cuisine with finesse. Intriguing starters arrive in mini-jars, like local fig compote and Gorgonzola or ricotta with smoked tomatoes and kale pesto, to be spread on grilled bread. Gourmet comfort foods abound, such as truffled mac ‘n’ cheese, baked Brie, hand-cut fries, or roasted Brussels sprouts. Burgers, flatbreads and a Karl Strauss Amber-braised pot roast add to the casual theme. Rossman is known for his lobster mac ‘n’ cheese --- yes, there are two types of mac ‘n’ cheese on the menu --- and the short rib pappardelle is another rich dish. The kids' menu has nice variety, from fish tacos and beef sliders to BLTs and quesadillas. Brunch calls for hearty breakfast burritos, short rib hash or apple cakes with caramelized apples, Julian apple cider and honey pecan butter.
