Thai Pavilion Restaurant Review:
Rockville’s Town Square is filled with restaurants of every ethnic sort, from Italian to Lebanese to Tex-Mex to, of course, Thai. Situated in a primo spot right on the central open area, the classy Thai Pavilion does seem more geared to its Western clientele, but for starters you will find a worthy chicken satay with a creamy peanut dipping sauce. Skip the lemon grass soup coated with hot chili oil and move on to such entrées as a robust pad thai with loads of bean sprouts and chopped peanuts. Other mains include Shrimp Paragon (with grilled shrimp and scallops), grilled king salmon, and pad thai supreme with crispy soft shell crab and fried shrimp. For dessert, bypass the sticky rice and mango unless mangoes are in season, and try the winning Thai coconut custard.
