Tierra Sur Restaurant Restaurant Review:

The gleaming Herzog winery is an anomaly on the agricultural and industrial plains of Oxnard, as is the contemporary kosher restaurant inside. But Tierra Sur defies expectations with an emphasis on Southwestern flavors in a casual white tablecloth space. Skirt steak, for example, is marinated with chipotle chilis before it's served with sweet potato fries and savoy cabbage slaw. House-made organic corn tortillas are filled with anchiote-marinated fish of the day, along with green tomatillo and mango salsa. House-made pastas include ravioli verde with roasted cauliflower. Or go for broke with herb-crusted lamb chops or a 32-ounce rib-eye. In addition to Herzog wines (available in two-ounce and larger pours), beer, ale, Cognac and brandy are also offered. Desserts include cinnamon donuts, flourless chocolate cake and assorted sorbets.
