Tinker's Restaurant Review:

Every beach town has one: the locals’ favorite burger joint, a casual haven of good eats and greasy fingers and a line out the door, a place where “gourmet” toppings refer to roasted Ortega chiles. In the coastal community of Summerland, it’s all about Tinker's. You’ll still find curly fries and milk shakes at this seaside throwback to simpler times. Locally owned and operated (mainly by high school kids), the humble eatery isn’t much more than a counter, a scanty kitchen and a couple of tables. Yes, seating can be an issue. Consider walking your deep-fried and griddle-cooked goodies a few hundred yards to Lookout Park, where picnic tables are perched on a green lawn at the edge of the sea. On Sunday afternoons, the smell of wood smoke and sizzling tri-tip attracts passersby; the rest of the week, the focus is the burgers.
