Tribeca Tavern Restaurant Review:

Though it looks and sounds like an ordinary sports bar, there’s nothing ordinary about Tribeca Tavern’s food. Its famous burgers are made from hand-fed Angus cattle raised in nearby Ayden County, while cheeses are crafted in local creameries and vegetables are grown on Piedmont farms. Even the pickles served with every burger are made in Mt. Olive, and the buns come from a local bakery. Menu standouts include the pizzas and deli sandwiches, but you can’t beat the imaginative burgers. We like “Mastering Augusta” topped with house-made pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes and bacon; and the “Tar Heel” slathered in red wine-glazed onions, Carolina Moon cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. For dessert, try the imaginative bread pudding with roasted bananas and white chocolate chips. The draft beer list features bottles from several Carolina breweries but, alas, the short wine list does not include a single N.C. winery.
