Ugo Restaurant Review:
This bustling trattoria, with its upbeat blue, white and yellow color scheme, fits right in with Culver City's bright new image. Diners tend to gravitate to the spacious patio to enjoy people-watching in this downtown area filled with restaurants, boutiques and galleries. The menu consists of a predictable lineup of L.A. trattoria fare---nothing particularly memorable, but perfectly satisfying in the moment. Start with items like caprese salad or bruschetta before moving on to penne puttanesca, gnocchi bathed in one of four sauces, hearty spaghetti Bolognese or nicely prepared chicken piccata. For dessert, there's the ubiquitous tiramisu (a good rendition at that), cheesecake or a nostalgic spumoni.
