Urbana Menu

Great expectations for the Italian-American menu (fulfilled), with a clubby scene to match.
Urbana Restaurant Review:
From dark and dreary to vibrant and ultra-hip, Urbana has undergone a radical transformation, emerging as the must-go-to destination on P Street. Not only are the cocktails chic and the setting super-sensuous, the cooking has improved due to a chef whose edge is evident in his work: barely-sweet French onion soup topped with Gruyère and puff pastry, a rectangle of crispy pork belly on a slick of puréed white beans, a plate of chorizo and polenta. And those are just starters. As for entrées, the roasted duck breast on red chard and accompanied by Mission figs is a standout. Braised rabbit with hand-cut pappardelle is another option. Odds are good you’ll want dessert, and the chocolate peanut butter mousse with caramel sauce is a fine way to end the meal. Sadly, the menu changes often, but you will probably find something to your liking whenever you dine here.
