You know if a place is only open for brunch that the brunch has got to be good. Or better than good---which is the case at Vinegar Factory. Eli Zabar’s specialty-food warehouse, once a vinegar factory, serves a delightful brunch in its huge upstairs loft space. Displayed on tables are an array of the store’s own preserves and a basket piled with Eli’s fresh breads. Be sure to try one of the omelets, like the wild mushroom and spinach omelet. Other brunch standouts include the brisket of beef hash with two fried eggs; eggs Benedict; and the simple Eli's bread basket with butter and jam. There are also pizzas, sandwiches and salads. During peak times, expect to browse among the gourmet delicacies downstairs while waiting for a table.
