Vivolo Restaurant Review:
Does decent Italian always have to be in a rustic, no-frills environment? Not at this elegant Upper East Side eatery, set in a townhouse. A friendly and attentive waitstaff does more cosseting than you’d expect at such reasonable prices. Try the mezze rigatoni with sweet Italian sausage and pork meatballs in a tomato sauce; the paccheri, a large tubular pasta with mushrooms and a porcini truffle sauce; or a main course like red snapper prepared in a mustard sauce with roasted red peppers. The two-course tasting menu includes many options and costs less than twenty dollars.
