Voila Restaurant Review:
Tucked into a corner of Botetourt and West Bute Streets, Voila, with its soft lighting and eclectic décor, is a local gem for those seeking gourmet international cuisine and friendly, professional service in an intimate atmosphere. Owned by Hampton Roads restaurateurs John and Maggie Tsouris, the place offers a menu of classic French dishes, such as soupe à l’oignon, escargots, bouillabaisse and steak frites. John’s Greek heritage allows for solomos exohiko (pan-seared salmon wrapped in phyllo with spinach, feta and dill in an avgolemono sauce) and paidakia arni (herb-marinated lamb lollipops finished with feta). And how often do you see beef Wellington on a menu nowadays? A special could be andouille-stuffed, pan-roasted quail with bacon-braised cabbage, smoked carrot purée and sherry jus. Chocolate mousse to finish is often on hand. A three-course prix-fixe is available nightly, meaning it’s always Restaurant Week here.
