Woodshed Smokehouse Restaurant Review:
If you’re looking for a laid-back spot to enjoy some of the most unique barbecue in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, head to chef Tim Love’s Woodshed Smokehouse. The aromas of smoking meat will greet you before you walk through the door, and you’ll stroll by the piles of cherry, post oak and mesquite wood that Love uses to smoke his meats. You’ll also witness a rotating “Animal of the Day” roasting on a spit behind glass, perhaps cabrito (goat) or suckling pig. Break out of your comfort zone and try Love’s smoked rattlesnake and rabbit sausage, or Dr. Pepper pork banh mi tacos. If you’re with a group of less adventurous eaters, brisket and smoked filet mignon will suit even the pickiest palates. Sides also stand out --- a smoked baked potato topped with cheese and smoked guanciale are just as memorable as Love’s barbecue. On good weather days, the garage-style doors are raised to create an open-air space for enjoying the smoked goodness.
