WoodSpoon Restaurant Review:

Chef and co-owner Natalia Pereira learned to cook from her mother, and a casual hominess pervades the menu selections at WoodSpoon. It's a minimalist space, clean and simple, with white walls, a high ceiling and just a couple of pieces of contemporary art as decoration, making if feel as much like a gallery as a restaurant. Start with coxinha, deep-fried balls of ground chicken with a spicy dipping sauce, or the calabreza sausage with yucca fries. You can't beat the Brazilian grill, with your choice of beef, lamb, chicken, Brazilian sausage, fish of the day, and even vegetables for those who eschew meat. This meal on a plate includes rice, black beans, collard greens, salsa and plantains. Many regulars go for the tender braised pork short ribs sitting atop corn grits. Feijoada, the traditional Sunday meal in Brazil, is available (in addition to the regular menu) on Saturdays. Daily-made desserts change regularly, and there is a limited selection of beer and wine.
