The Metropolitan Restaurant Review:
The Metropolitan looks like a handsome late 19th-century European bistro, but the menu does not reflect the image. Instead, you’ll find satisfying matzoh ball soup; a Philly cheesesteak dripping with goodness; corn flakes in a crockery bowl; and a chunky Western omelet. This is a morning-to-late-night café that serves classic American food and is also notable for its good oyster and gelato bars. It’s comfortable and inexpensive just off the gaming floor where you can always get something simple and pleasing to eat, from a grilled cheese sandwich to braised short ribs. There’s even a gluten-free menu. Desserts are comprised of ordinary sweets such as peanut butter chocolate cream pie and carrot cake. Service is casual but efficient.
