Mike's Hot Dogs Restaurant Review:
In business since 1996, Mike's Hot Dogs delivers the namesake product in a bright, simple space with a red, yellow and blue color scheme and walls lined with photos, posters and memorabilia of all kinds. A huge sign touts its specialty and longevity. If you crave a Chicago-style dog (we find the overload a bit much), this is a fine spot to indulge. Poppy seed-dusted rolls encase a Vienna all-beef hot dog. Try the Maxwell Street or Chicago-style Polish sausage; a corn dog; or a hot dog covered in slaw or kraut. We prefer a straightforward version with good chili, sautéed onion and cheese. Chicken sausage and veggie options are available as well. If you require sweet stuff, order a brownie. No alcohol.
