Milk & Honey Tapas

Small plates, specialty cocktails and a cool ambience attract hipsters to this downtown lounge.
Milk & Honey Tapas Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: The dimly lit room and lengthy list of specialty cocktails draw downtown hipsters into Milk & Honey. Ambience and location are the restaurant’s key assets, and most patrons are content to sip sassy named drinks like Mexican Scurvy Remedy and Skinny Lady without giving much thought to the food.
Food: Small plates are divided into sections---vegetarian, seafood and terrestrial---and assigned tongue-in-cheek monikers that tend to overshadow the actual dish. Take, for example, This Poke is no Jokie, an otherwise standard rendition of Hawaiian-style ahi poke, with a heavy price tag. Like its sister restaurant, the Mesa hotspot Alcazar, this one serves an international mix of flavors, from pizza and Mexican sliders to filet mignon sautéed with a cream sherry butter sauce. Desserts include brioche bread pudding with rum soaked raisins and an orange caramel sauce, homemade flan and a molten chocolate cake with raspberries and whipped cream.
