Mono+Mono Restaurant Review:
This handsome, dark wood-bedecked East Village restaurant is the best place in New York to eat Korean fried chicken and listen to live jazz. It also happens to be the only place in the Big Apple where you can eat Korean fried chicken and listen to live jazz. It doesn’t hurt that the offerings from the kitchen, most of which have a Korean leaning, happen to be very good. A wall of 30,000 jazz albums takes up one side of the space, while a band plays in the middle of the room (or, on some nights, a DJ, up above, spins records). The Korean fried chicken is quite good, but there are also some decent sushi rolls, bulgogi burgers and kimchi pancakes on the menu. Wash it all down with a soju-based cocktail and let the jazz seep in.
