Monterey Cookhouse
Meat-centric meals with service that complements the ambience.
Monterey Cookhouse Restaurant Review:
One thing to expect when arriving at Monterey Cookhouse: A warm greeting from owner Linda Cantrell. Diners should also anticipate Cantrell’s menu recommendations. We order the tender smoked beef brisket with homemade barbecue sauce and a side of onion rings and broccoli. Beef short ribs come braised in red wine and cola sauce with a twice-baked potato; the meat falls off the bone, the sauce enlivens the entire dish, and the potato is stuffed with a creamy mixture of butter, sour cream, cheddar and bacon. Beer, wine and spirits are available.
