Morio Restaurant Review:
Owner Morio Sakayori moves about his eponymous restaurant in his kimono and wooden clogs. His big smile is as infectious as his cream of tofu-topped salmon (flown in from Norway) is addictive. The celebrity chef, who hails from Tokyo, has created a refined Japanese dining experience within a room done in moody tones of black and wasabi green. When the music stops, there’s always the sound of flowing water and a well-trained waitstaff. Crunchy goodness is found in the calamari legs tempura; also popular are the soft, fleshy morsels of tuna belly (toro). For dessert, green tea mousse is topped with yogurt. Morio’s cuisine pairs well with crisp white wines.
