THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mr. Mike's Restaurant Review:

Something of a Detroit institution, Mr. Mike's keeps on plugging along, maintaining a subdued elegance since 1936 on an otherwise undistinguished part of Woodward Avenue. When we're in need of a nice lunch --- some real, solid food served efficiently in an atmosphere that makes the working world seem a thousand miles away --- we come here. Others frequent the place for business purposes, and Mr. Mike's accommodates both. Standout specialties are the lamb shank, short ribs and pork chops. But don't neglect the regular entrées, which include stalwarts such as veal Marsala, English-cut fish ‘n’ chips, butterfly shrimp, catfish and lasagna. If you're leaning a little lighter, scan the sandwich list or dig into a salad.
