Murphy's Bar & Grill
Known for its bar, this pub also offers hearty fare for lunch during the week and dinner nightly.
Murphy's Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: This downtown pub is located in a historic 19th-century saloon where King Kalakaua himself was known to bend an elbow. Now, it’s a destination for lunch and drinks and snacks in the evening.
Food & Drinks: We’re fond of the salads, like the Caesar with seared ahi. Burgers are substantial, and there’s a daily special. Also on the menu are shepherd's pie, Gaelic steak with green peppercorn gravy and an open-face turkey sandwich. Look for big crowds watching major sporting events on satellite TV, and if you’re in Honolulu for St. Patrick’s Day, do not miss the annual block party on Nuuanu Avenue, which gets quite lively in front of Murphy’s.
